Conte content with point from Naples

Juventus coach Antonio Conte praised his team's resilience following Friday's 1-1 draw with Napoli - but admitted they were not clinical enough in front of goal.

In a top of the table clash, Juve looked set to extend their lead atop Serie A to nine points when Giorgio Chiellini nodded them in front after just 10 minutes at the Stadio San Paolo.

However, after missing several good chances - most notably through Mirko Vucinic - to double their advantage, the visitors were pegged back just before half-time as Gokhan Inler's deflected effort left Gianluigi Buffon with no chance in the Juve goal.

After the break, Buffon had to be at the top of his game to deny Marek Hamsik from scoring on two occasions and in the end Conte was satisfied to leave Naples with a point which leaves their six-point lead intact.

"Considering how the first half panned out, I could sense victory and the opportunity to put Napoli further behind. But while the match is still in the opposition's reach, they can always turn the result around," he was quoted on the Juve website as saying.

"Today [Friday] we weren't clinical enough which is a shame because if we had gone 2-0 up, it would have been a heavy blow for Napoli. They were more cautious after the break and waited for us to come at them before attacking the spaces.

"Of course in these games, people are thinking about the bigger picture. In the second half I believe the lads took this on board and tried to handle the game accordingly. And I think that this is a sign of maturity."

He added: "Six points is a good advantage, but there are still 11 games left and we still have to play against Inter, Lazio, Milan and next Sunday, we face up against this year's surprise package Catania."

"We must always be ruthless and keep going flat out to try and repeat last year's achievements. This is crunch time, there's no more room for slip ups. We have to look towards the finish line and try to get there first."

The Bianconeri's next fixture is a Champions League last-16 second leg against Celtic at Juventus Stadium on Wednesday night.

The Scots trail the Italians 3-0 from the first leg.
